Wednesday Addams Dress Sewing Pattern — Ages 6–8

Here you will find the sewing patterns needed to recreate the ball gown from the Netflix series Wednesday, inspired by the Addams Family

Please note that seam allowances are not included in the pattern!

FRONT PATTERN PIECES:

The (Pattern 1A and 1A+) pieces should be cut once on the fold of the fabric.

Before cutting, first join the two pattern pieces together at PR (the matching point indicated by arrows).

Remember to add the seam allowance (1 cm)!

The (Pattern 2A) piece should be cut twice in a sheer fabric (chiffon or organza).

BACK PATTERN PIECE:

The (Pattern 1B and 1B+) pieces should be cut once on the fold of the fabric.

As with the previous pattern piece, remember to join the two pattern pieces together at PR (the matching point indicated by arrows) before cutting.

The piece should be cut from silk satin or satin. Cotton poplin can also be used, although we recommend satin or silk satin for a better finish and overall appearance.

The (Pattern 2B) piece should be cut twice in a sheer fabric (chiffon or organza), just like Pattern 2A.

SKIRT AND BODICE RUFFLE PATTERNS:

In the series Wednesday, during the ball scene, we can see that the bodice ruffles are made from shaded black organza. For our version, we used silk satin and tulle.

In the series, the skirt is constructed in two stages, starting with a satin skirt to which the ruffles are then added. For our version, we layer the ruffles on top of one another to create this effect.

COLLAR PATTERN PIECES:

The collar pattern pieces should each be cut twice on the fold, using two different materials.

One should be cut from duchess satin, and the other from fusible interfacing (recommended).

The fusible interfacing will be used to reinforce the fabric. Interfacing helps strengthen a garment piece, making it easier to assemble while also adding structure, stiffness and support to ensure the garment

holds its shape properly.
